Java Architect

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Involved in day-to-day Development activities guiding the team through challenges
  • Develop efficient and high-quality code while meeting product release deadlines as necessary
  • Translate architectural vision into the design and delivery of a functioning system
  • Ensure the adherence to coding, design and architectural standards
  • Develop strategies and rollout plans as needed
  • Assist leads and managers to prepare time estimates for projects and software design plans
  • Write good lean technical design documentation and technical approach
  • Individual must be proactive, self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple project tasks.
  • Respond quickly to support issues and follow up till resolution with the team
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and provide quick resolution to production problems
  • Follow up and provide timely reporting on issues to management

Job Description:

  • Should have 12+ years- experience in Java/J2EE technologies – design and development of high-volume, high-performance, high-availability, service-oriented Java applications using proven Java frameworks and technologies.
  • Minimum 3+ years- experience as an architect.
  • Design and develop scalable web-services.
  • Design and develop reusable libraries and APIs.
  • Java technologies: Java EE/J2EE, JPA/Hibernate, Struts, Spring, Servlets, JDBC, JMS, JSON, JUNIT
  • Experience in Web Services using SOAP, XML/XSLT, and Restful Services.
  • JVM Semantics/Garbage Collection knowledge.
  • Strong Integration experience
  • Good working experience in any one APP and Web Servers: JBoss, Tomcat, Websphere, Web logic
  • Hands on database experience (Oracle/PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQLServer) including transaction management, SQL programming, schema design.
  • Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, with good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with team members and clients.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and technical troubleshooting
